It’s Been a Long Time

It’s been three years since I’ve written anything here.  I forgot why I stopped.  At least, I had forgotten until today.

I was moseying along, following the path my endlessly inquisitive mind was carving out for me, when I came upon a video that was part of a course I bought a few weeks ago.

Anyway, I feel like I need to confess.  Bless me, dear reader, for I have sinned.  It’s been three years since my last blog entry.  I’m a free speech advocate for god’s sake.  It is a sin to just quit like that.

But lately it was beginning to nag at me.  I wanted to start again but didn’t know what to say about why I had stopped, and I didn’t want to just make up some lame excuse.

As it turns out, several events converged (long story) and culminated in a miraculous restoration of my memory.  Well, maybe that’s a bit over the top, but I did get a sudden flash of insight that seemed like a miracle to me at the time.

I had to stop blogging because my WordPress installation crashed, and I didn’t know how to fix it.  I called my hosting company for help at the time, but couldn’t get any.  Back then, they didn’t support WordPress, or they were going to charge me extra for it or something.  Remember, this was 2009, right after the crash, and I just couldn’t handle it.  So I just gave up and forgot about it.  (Another sin as far as I’m concerned.)Never give up

That was three years ago though, and three years is an eternity in the field of internet technology.  So this year when I called, the help desk fixed it for me right away.  So, as you can see, it’s uncrashed now, and I’m baa-ack!  So what would you like to talk about next?
